Parries in Opposition
Absetzen (offsetting) are parries in opposition where the guards Ochs and Pflug are used to displace and thrust at the same time. Like all single-time counters, Absetzen are very effective interceptive strikes which are nearly unstoppable - if and when done correctly. However they require the fencer to act early and precisely in order to succeed.
